501c3 Non Profit Information
The Ballet Academy (TBA) is a nonprofit corporation registered with the Ohio Secretary of State and formed under Ohio nonprofit corporation laws and within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code (IRC). TBA’s mission is to provide dance education that fosters creativity and artistry, knowledge, and execution of technique, and instills life-long lessons students can carry with them into the professional world whether that be in dance or another profession. TBA believes anyone with the desire to dance should have the opportunity to experience its benefits, regardless of ability, age, financial restraints, or other circumstances. TBA exists to allow those individuals with circumstances that normally would prevent them from receiving high quality dance instruction to be trained in dance.
Your Tuition and Donor Dollars
As a nonprofit organization, we are legally required to (and do) invest all funds that come into the organization back into the organization. This means that 100% of every dollar that is invested in TBA – whether through tuition or donation – will go to meet the needs of TBA, its current work, and its future development.
As an IRC Section 501(c)(3) nonprofit, public charity organization, most donations made to TBA are tax-deductible. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, TBA is able to use donor support to make our high-quality instruction available at lower rates than the average rates for the same caliber of training and also provide scholarships for students who may not otherwise be able to afford tuition yet have a passion for dance.
A Great Place to Dance
TBA feels strongly that being a nonprofit organization is one of the best ways for us to ensure that TBA is a great place to dance. Since making a profit is not the goal of the organization, we have full freedom to invest in the TBA mission of providing high quality dance instruction to those students with a passion for dance regardless of their personal financial or other circumstances.
Board of Directors
Rather than having an owner, like a for-profit corporation, TBA is managed by an Executive Director and is governed by a Board of Directors. The Board of Directors is made up of a group of community members, representing a wide range of professional expertise, who volunteer to oversee the organization, ensure that it is operating with integrity, and that it is always working to fulfill its stated mission.

990’s will be available after our first tax filing as a non-profit.
